Res. No. 17-53, 2017-18 Agreement between Edmonds School District and Rotary Club of Lynnwood to Construct a Single Family Residence
Recommendation
It is recommended that the School Board approve the Agreement with the Rotary Club of Lynnwood to construct a single family residence in support of the Career and Technical Education Carpentry Trades curriculum. The single family residence will be built on property purchased by the Rotary Club of Lynnwood, usually located within Edmonds School District boundaries.
Background
This is the 43rd year of cooperative effort and contract for the framing and landscaping of a house by students in the Career and Technical Education classes. Other facets and tasks involved are contracted by the Rotary to sub-contractors. Rotary finances all construction costs. This is an excellent cooperative effort involving students from every high school in the Edmonds School District. The profits from the sale of the house are used by the Rotary in their community service and benevolent activities. The sale of the house is the sole responsibility of the Rotary.
