Approval of Interlocal Agreement with The Interlocal Purchasing System (TIPS)
It is recommended that the Board approve an Interlocal agreement with TIPS that allows the District to utilize competitively bid contracts for various goods and services offered on contract through their cooperative.
TIPS is a national governmental purchasing cooperative able to leverage the purchasing potential of governmental entities in 48 states. The program is administered and managed Region 8 Educational Service Center (one of 20 Regional Education Service Centers within Texas), and has been around since 2002. All TIPS contracts are awarded by a seven-member Board of Directors, and each TIPS vendor has met strict Competitive Bidding Process guidelines established by the Region 8 ESC administration and the TIPS legal team.
Source of Funds:
Various agreements could be utilized and various amounts could be encumbered over the next year.
